Mental State – By presenting optimistic scenarios in the preceding four functional domains, the animal’s mental state should benefit from mostly positive states, such as pleasure, comfort, or vigor. In contrast, hostile conditions, such as fear, frustration, hunger, pain, or boredom, are reduced.
